I agree it is long, but is you make it too short you run the risk of not giving people enough time to see the patch, especially in a holiday season. The solution is to encourage people to do explicit acks, ans do them as soon as possible.

    Well, David had 2 weeks on it before. And the rounds before have
    tended to leave most patches soak in a publicly visible queue for
    2+ weeks. So will we say 2 weeks min?
