It is possible to reshape the windscreen by careful use of a flapwheel and plenty of water to keep it cool. My windscreen was also slightly too wide, although unfortunately I only found this after the first one cracked whilst securing the support pillars. Just make sure to wear a mask and goggles as glass dust is nasty stuff.
