Should just be listed as the inner driveshaft joint for that model.

Thanks Jim, Yes this joint has 6 allen type bolts holding it together. I took it to bits yesterday and cleaned it up in the vain hope of being able to get a couple of hundred miles out of it until I could source a replacement. It worked brilliantly for the first 7 or 8 miles and I thought I had cracked it. Then it just gave up the ghost and the output shaft from the gearbox was just spinning with no output from the joint. This is my only transport at the moment and I live in the middle of nowhere so it is a top priority to get her back on the road quickly. When I contact the motor factors what should I ask for, the grins are unbearable if I go in and ask for the thingummy that goes on the....

The XR2 single piece shaft should fit straight on with it's matching
joints (not the same as the 1.4).
As Matthew says they do reduce torque steer.

Is this a joint with 6 or 8 bolts holding it together ?, if so the
bearing carrier unbolts from the rest of the shaft and you should be
able to get a new pattern one from a motor factors.
