Still chopping of wires out of the Endura loom - getting there, but slowly. Down to about 15 unidentified wires now.
Is there an easy way to tell if the car is fitted with PATS? The wiring diagrams show two options, one with PATS, one without. If it has it, the diesels were only fitted with external PATS which isn't supposed to be too bad to bypass. But since I don't know what a PATS unit looks like, and the car is now full of tools and carpets, it's going to be tricky to find. I do have red and black keys though, which might be a clue. The reason I ask is that I have a black/yellow wire for the starter relay coil negative side, which runs either to PATS or to earth. If that's the only wire that PATS affects, I'll just ground it and be done. Are there likely to be more PATS contacts to the ECU, or just this one?
