Dan, I don't know that I can help, but which Pinto engine are you installing? ie, what capacity and carb or fuel injection? If you are fitting a fuel injection engine you will struggle to get the engine low enough to fit the inlet manifold under the bonnet. Also be where that the Pinto sump sits about 50mm below the chassis and can be damaged, so you may need to shorten that too.
