Did you change the driveshafts to the Mk3 ones when you fitted the Zetec ?
If so, that's probably the problem, the Mk3 shafts are longer.

Hi Jim
Had a look through the docs, and couldn't find a photo of the Mk3
Fiesta with plates - but I think it was a H reg - the original XR2
donor was a D reg. I'm fairly certain the hubs and suspension are Mk2,
and the driveshafts MK3 if this helps.
