HI Jim
Quick update, Adam was out in the Car last week, and when he got of
the motorway, he ealised it was making a horrible noise...........
aended up geting it recovered, and the upshot is that investigation
has shown the timing belt tensioner has disintegrated. I've basically
got the out and ineer, but no bearings!
So the work to sort out the gearbox/diff/driveshat/suspension problems
is on hold. Clearly I'm facing a strong possibility of bent valves,
damaged pistons etc, so it may be that the engine and box come out,
and I look into the other problems then.
I'm going to start a different thread with an appeal for a MK3
tensioner - an to which cars/engines use the same one that you're
aware of would be welcome as usual.
Thanks
StevieCee
