Cheers Doug! I think mine has a metal pipe going through the bung into the tank, not the plastic assembly with the gubbins on that is shown in my manual. Then there is just a length of large diameter pipe joining it to the aero filler.
Here's a thought, could it be the seal on the filler cap not being tight enough? I had to adjust my aero cap slightly to tighten the seal up when I first bought the car.
