You can and I note Jim skimmed of the top of the pistons, but with the Zetec head would need to skim more off than .5mm, although haven't worked out the numbers yet, need to get my thermodynamics notes out next week as I've got to lecture it anyway!! Might give the students a project!!! If I'm going to change the pistons I may as well go the forged route in readiness for a few more horses, but don't want to do that yet. I really don't think there's much risk with the decompression plate, but may get proved wrong!! To be honest with black top Zetc engines available for about £150 to £200, I'm not too worried about the engine. Its all the bolt ons that cost!!! Nigel
