I've just had the £246 quote through too. That's around £100 more than
I paid FJ last year (with no changes at my end to affect the price).
Frankly I'd rather give the club the commission amount direct and
insure with someone whose prices are realistic.
I'm on the verge of steeling myself for the inevitable ring-around
marathon but I think I'll start with the company you've mentioned.

My 'normal' diesel Citroen was actually cheaper to insure this year
than last, because I found a stonkingly good cashback deal that took
the premium down to £101. In most years that car costs about the same
as my Q2+2 to insure. So that's the sort of price I had in mind -
Footman James' price had my jaw on the floor. Rather than have this
sense of obligation to insure expensively with FJ I'd be far happier
to make a donation to the club and offset that lost commission.

I'd be very interested to hear if anyone else here has found a good
insurer that can beat the club price (by a hefty margin!)

Matthew
