Hi folks, I am also not a member but am insured with FJ and paid £198.22 on 15/03/2012 so I smell a fishy fish!
As an aside I met a chap called Chris Fairlie who is an ex 2+2 owner at Goodwood breakfast club a couple of weeks ago, he seemed a very nice bloke and asked me straight away if mine was a turbo and if it was he had a magazine article of its build in 1995 which he kindly emailed to me and I can confirm that my car was indeed the car in the articles and it cost £10,500 to build and has a spliced wiring loom as the donar was an XR2 and the engine comes from an Escort RS Turbo. The builder was a Mark Hinchcliffe but does not say where he hails from but he had a Westfield just prior to building my car. I gave the insurerers of my rickman a call before commiting myself to FJ again, lucky I did really as there quote was £90, fully comp but without all the extras that FJ include, although I haven't used any of the extras in the last 5 years I've also set a milage of 5000 but I only use the car six months anyway.
