had exactly the same on mine when i bought one off ebay due to mine not having one originally as it was fitted with an OHV Presumably the previous owner of the bracket ran the car with badly worn bushes for some considerable time, I built the hole up with weld then filed it back to shape using a round socket as a guide to keep the hole round and true. then just use a dremmel to flat off the front or rear faces, or as Jim says, machine it back, would be even better
