The four rings just indicates it's a genuine VAG part. Years ago I had a mk2 Golf and the wiper stalk failed. I bought a replacement from GSF that was identical in every way (including a moulding fault) except two - it didn't have the four rings and it was a lot cheaper than the genuine part!
