So it would appear possible to 'modify' toughened glass! Quite a skill (and
risk of breakage?) involved.

Hi All
Hopefully I can now shed some light on the Mk1 rear quater windows.
Firstly, Harvey has told me that I am right and that it is the VW Sirocco
glass that was used. However he did not state which mark it was from.
Secondly. They paid a cut glass crystal maker to round off the rear edge so
that it would fit the Vahxhall Cevette rubber seals. These seals were from
the 2 door version of the Cevette.
I hope this helps everyone clarify the situation a bit better now. It maybe
a thought to try and ask window makers if they can round off the edge.
Failing that, has anyone got any contacts that the club can use ?
