Hi Andrew Verry Interesting indeed. How do you get a vacuum for your master brake servo? Other wise you have to push the brake pedal HARD.
Can't you put some batteries in the front of the car on top of the electro motor - to get the same weight in the front as the petrol lump - would give you a much better front/back weight ratio and handeling of the car. I'll follow your blog . . . Please keep a list of parts/modification you needed. You never know who wants the next electric QSC. But I think Jim's suggestion seems to work. I have managed to stop the flaps moving on full beam, so it is just a matter of working through the connections on what seems to be a fairly corroded component. Unfortunately the builder seems to have chosen red cable for every connection, so cable tracing is now a matter of hit and miss, but at least I'm going in the right direction. I have a blog, but I am very tardy in updating it. I will post an update soon. This is the blog, with some photos http://electric-car.blog.co.uk/. Batteries and charger now in and car drives. Brakes need to be bled, but hoping for a test run in May. Thanks again for your input Andrew On Wednesday, April 17, 2013 7:52:44 PM UTC+1, Alan wrote: To further confuse matters I don't know about yours but mine dates from the very short period when it was a requirement for cars to run the dipped beams at a lower wattage whenever the sidelights were on. As such the flaps come down on mine (F reg, it was required on new cars for only a year or two around that time) as soon as the sidelights are turned on. Your project sounds fascinating by the way. They drop down when the light is on main beam, but do not move when the dipped lights are on. I have tested and there is power to the nearside battery block terminal when both main and dipped lights are on, but the stepper motor only runs with the full beam. There seem to be 2 relays, one in the 'manual suggested position' on the steel frame by the nearside suspension unit, the other attached to the nearside headlight housing. Thanks in advance for your help and ideas. Andrew -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
