Dug out my build manual - not much info, but it states as follows :- 6.15.7 Front Seats. Remove the rear mounting lugs from the bottom of the seat runners by drilling out the rivets. Bolt the seat to the floor. The carpet should be cut around the runners. The correct location for the fixing bolts has been scribed on the underside of the car floor. It is essential that the seat runners are parallel otherwise they will not slide freely. The manual make no reference to Mk3.5, so I guess it is the standard Mk2 runners that are used.
