Dave, What I send you is information I gatherd on the internet. I have not jet done the conversion myself. But I know some day I’l have to do it. I just want to be prepared. I would leave the fiesta brake reducers at the rear - it makes the conversion faster and easyer.
I have 2 spare (brandnew) Fiesta XR2 servo’s but still can’t find new master cylinders . . . . I keep looking though Tried to rebuild old ones but the white plastic part at the back is not available. Reality is that at some point in time I’ll need to buy 2 brand new Mondeo servers & cylinders . . . before they too extinct. ( a nasty ford habbit) OR I can’t find the article any more but someone put a later Fiesta MK5 or 6 master servo/cilinder in a MK2. Again modifying the brackets & push rod. This servo is smaller than the Mondeo and would give less problems when you have an injection engine. All out of memory (fading with age..) Please take pictures and measurements!!! so that you can add it to the conversion info and spread the word on how to do it. Ideal article for the club magazine/website. I will have to get the MIG out!! I noticed that you have not used the pressure reducers that the Mondeo had on the master cylinder for the rear brakes. I wasn't sure whether to do as you have done and (presumably) keep the reducer at the rear of the car, or to do away with the one at the rear and use the Mondeo ones at the cylinder. I think that they were trying to show what one would be like if a Mk2 XR2 donor was used, as it has the CVH Engine and box and Mk2 front seats. The rest of the car, including door trims and the rear seat is Mk1 Fiesta (T-reg) from the donor, although it is re-trimmed in XR2 material. So, the ducts I am looking for are from a Mk2 XR2, not a Mk1. Hopefully they might be a bit more plentiful. Thanks, though.
