A bit late now, but, i’m sure i got into my 2+2 boot like this. Undo the nuts on the end of the boot hinges from inside the car. Push the boot towards the rear of the car and at the same time pull the front edge (next to the rear screen) up and the studs on the hinges should pull though. You can then lift the front of the boot up enough to reach either the 2 bolts that hold the latch onto it’s bracket or the 4 bolts that hold the bracket to the car. I had it happen when i was doing the build and i’d not got the linkage between the lock and catch correct. After that i tapped the boot catch mounting plate so that if i happens again i can just pull the number plate off and undo the 4 bolts under it.

Like the OP I think that the coupling between the lock and the catch has become detached as the key turns the lock but there is no release. And I can't recall what the mechanism looks like on the inside in order to try and get a coat hanger in there and wiggle. I really don't want to go boring holes behind the registration plate if at all possible. Would any kind soul please post a couple of pics of the mechanism on here so that I can see what to try and wiggle. Has anyone any experience of drilling the lock out? Would that give me enough access to be able to release it? Many thanks, Sam. The key turns from 12 o'clock to 10 past with no resistence & then stops. Any advice getting into the boot would be welcome. I assume that I will have to destroy the barrel to get at the lock, if that would work, or is there any other way round it?
