Re your fuse blowing ,check for movement of the engine/drivetrain/axle as this may be causing a short,I have also had a wrongly wired fuel pump cause a fuse to blow .live had been wired to the case,earth to spade .fine till the pump moved in its rubber mounting and shorted case to earth.
