I was just going to say that myself. Some of the hybrid or all electric cars must have an electric heater but they also have a much higher battery voltage (higher voltage means lower current for the same heat output).
I’ve found a lot of the pattern heater matrix’s are a lot less efficient than the original Ford one. The pattern ones used to have copper pipes, the Ford one has aluminium. Also, the pattern ones don’t fit the heater box well and have gaps around the outside so a lot of air can bypass the matrix unless you wrap it with foam tape. If you want to speed up the warmup (which you shouldn’t really need to if the cooling system is working correctly) then look at the electric coolant heaters as fitted to some Diesel cars. These have an array of glow plugs directly in the coolant, usually plumbed into a heater line. But you will have to sort out a high current supply and probably uprate your alternator and battery.
