Ah, Doesn't yours have a 2.0 Zetec in it ?
I wonder if it has been plumbed it correctly or has been simplified for the
2+2 install.
The Zetec has a more complex cooling system than the CVH with a changeover
thermostat that blocks off a bypass pipe when the stat opens.
First thing to check is if the radiator is getting warm at all before the
temperature gauge gets near it's normal position.
