When working in deeply nested patches, it would be useful if there was
some way to publish an input or output all the way up to the root
level in one step. Currently I often find myself publishing the same
input or output multiple times (once in each nested level) to get it
all the way to the top level. Might be a good feature request unless
there is already a way to do this that I am not aware of (which is
quite possible)...
