Wise suggestion, George. I might have it — I got a clue because I discovered I was able to save a qtz as expected to my home folder, but the error was consistent trying to save files to ~/Desktop and subfolders. So I did the terminal defaults show hidden files, deleted the .DS_Store file and now it is working. I’m a bit fuzzy why it worked, we’ll see.
