Oh OK, on my Mac I was getting the same problem and deleting the ACLs fixed it.
They are inherited via a “_spotlight” user every time I make a new folder on my
MacBook.
If it’s another user you can use the Terminal to see if there are any ACLs:
ls -le foldername
And then remove all the ACLs:
chmod -N foldername
Best to test this on a test folder first :-)
