Hi, hmmmm. which font are you using with synthfont. I'm wondering whether this could be the problem, the actual font itself. I haven't played with the metronome function itself in synthfont.
I've tried out FluidR3 GM.SF2 and GeneralUser GS 1.4.sf2 so far. It's a good pointer though, maybe I should give it a shot with other fonts and see what happens.
