Also consider the notes being used for the metronome. They could've gotten
changed somehow. I don't know off the top of my head what they should be,
though. I don't use synthfont with QWS, but I do use Fluid with Synthfont,
and haven't had any percussion problems with it.

I'm wondering whether this could be the problem, the actual font itself.
I haven't played with the metronome function itself in synthfont.
I've tried out FluidR3 GM.SF2 and GeneralUser GS 1.4.sf2 so far. It's a
good pointer though, maybe I should give it a shot with other fonts and
see what happens.
