I agree that port forwarding has nothing to do with your problem.  Port
forwarding would come into play if you set up your Radio at another
location and wanted it to connect to your server via the Internet.

The ports are being blocked going out.  These would be configured in
your firewall rules.  I don't have FIOS, but I do have experience with
the firewall in the router Verizon provides in their wireless gateway
for DSL.  The default "protection level" was medium, which would only
allow common outbound port connections, such as for HTTP, FTP, etc. 
Setting it to a lower level would allow any outbound connection on any
port.  You can also specify a particular rule to allow a specific port.

I think you need to look at the outbound connection settings in the
firewall configuration on your router.
