Maybe I asked a silly question. Certainly there is no way that running
a computer in addition to the radio is saving power, neither is leaving
a ocmputer on continously using less power than turning it off when not
in use. I could, of course, get another low power computer just to run
the server, but that becomes an expensive solution and I would not have
gone down this route. There is not so much extra processing power going
on at mysb, since ultimately I am streaming from a radio station. Back
to the problem, if I stream from the computer, fine, it will ask me to
connect to the server. If I switch back to radio, it just connects
through the computer server and works as normal. Turn both off, and the
next time I turn the radio on, nothing happens. I have to go back to
the home menu, select internet radio and then one more selection before
it starts asking to connect to mysb. Surely the obvious answer is for
it to do a quick check to see if the server is running and then tell me
it is connecting to mysb. It really does not need my permission, nor
should it be necessary to delve into the menus. Yes, I can take on any
of the above solutions, but if Logitech don't sort this out they are
going to seriously limit the appeal of what otherwise is a very good
product.
