I don't have a battery so can't do any testing. But my understanding is that when the SB Radio powers down to save battery when left on battery only it is truly "OFF". So I would think no alarm would sound. Now if the SB Radio is plugged in to AC, the power goes off, it falls to battery, then 30 minutes passes and it goes to sleep, the question becomes what does it do when SB Radio see AC mains again? To figure this out, I would use a power strip with a switch. Plug SB Radio into the power switch, set an alarm for 45 minutes from current time, then flip the power strip switch to off. Wait for SB Radio to go to sleep, then 5 or 10 minutes later flip the switch on and wait to see if the alarm sounds.
