I have interpreted this to mean the Standby/OFF should not be used. What I have done is change the "Stop" screensaver to "Digital Clock (Black)". Digital Clock (Black) is the default screensaver for "OFF". When I'm finished listening to any stream, I hit the pause button and then hold the pause button for a second to go into "Stop" mode. At this point, the stream is "Stopped" The stop indicator is shown in the lower left corner. After 30 seconds (which can be changed, I believe), the Digital Clock (Black) is shown so it looks like it would normally look if you had used Standby/OFF. From this status, you can turn a stream back on in the normal way (i.e. by hitting a preset or however else you would normally tune in a stream).
