Hello All,

Version: 7.5.4 - r32171
SBR Firmware 7.5.4-r9408

I am a owner of 2 SB3s, dispersed in a 2 story home. I just picked up
a SBR for my kid -- who's room is literally 15 ft from a high-end AP
(Cisco Aironet 800 series ISR). This is with 3 diversity antennas
(MIMO)running in mixed n/g mode. I get great reception from the
other Squeezeboxes with this setup over the years....but not with SBR.
Should I return it as defective and try another, or just get a refund
as this is the way it is going to be? I do not want to run AP in g
only mode, as I have 'n' client's that connect (saw a thread that
suggested that). SB3 have no issue, again...rock solid.

Signal strength from the SBR varies wildly from 30% to 90%...... it
cannot play a FLAC stream/playlist for more than a few hours before it
either just loops and repeats a sequence over and over, or just hangs.

Rebooting the SBR generally gives me a good 70+% signal for some
time...then it slowly degrades. Interestingly I found that once the
SBR loses connectivity with the server entirely.....I cannot reconnect
from the SBR successfully, after repeated attempts. I must
power-cycle the SBR(pull plug), then it instantly finds the server with
good signal strength and the cycle starts immediately again.

I really like the concept of the SBR, but am finding it buggy with my
setup. Is it a bad unit, or some inherent incompatibility with the
SBR and my Cisco AP? One thing for sure, my 2 SB3s and my new SBR
have vastly different Wifi performance.

Thanks for any help or guidance as I try and decide what to do.

Jim
