No, I'm sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. If I put it in "standby" with "screensaver off" in standby mode, then yes, it goes completely dark. Fine. In that situation, in the middle of the night, I expect one push on a button to activate a clock display. They ARE pitching this as a "clock radio" after all. However, what I get is the most recently viewed menu page, be it Home, Settings, Sow playing, whatever. Not what we need to see in the middle of the night.
So my idea was that I could do: Screen>Screensavers>When off>Digital Clock, and the automatic dimming would *eventually* dim to total darkness, ie, screen appearing *off* at which point, in the middle of the night, a single push of turn of a knob somewhere would bring up the clock for a few seconds. But as you pointed out, it seems to be intended to keep it visible. But damn, that thing is BRIGHT at night! Even if the clock were dimmed to just barely visible, the back-light alone is bright enough to read by! IN a nutshell, what I was expecting was a blank dark screen when not in use, and one push making it possible to momentarily view the time. Like nearly every clock radio out there. So there's no way to make this thing act like just like a clock, when it's not a radio? ------------------------------------------------------------------------ franglais's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19123 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94963 _______________________________________________ Radio mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/radio
