[RR] Hoped to go to Camporama

Hi All,

I just wanted to say that today my employer dashed my hopes of going to Camporama. I was actually pretty disgusted about the policy/politics involved in their doing it too. If I don't go to the Camporama, I am not certain if my outpost will be able to go either, which would then cascade into a number of different scenarios.  My boys have worked hard and have planned for this even before I showed up, but the Sr. Cmdr would need my help to go because he won't be doing it alone.
  Please be praying for me because I need a lot of strength and wisdom in this matter. I have been with this company for what will be 4 years at the time of Camporama and because I see this as not being acceptable, I am considering employment elsewhere. My feeling behind it is that you just simply don't abandon kids. Period. I ma pretty upset over the whole thing because if they don't go that would leave me in the position of feeling like I couldn't come through for them. My feeling is "How would you feel if those who were important to you feel if you had to let them down in that way?" It makes me feel like a rat, and that is not acceptable.  If I went anyway without the company's blessing, that would not be the example I would want to set, because that woul be going against the company's wishes, and two, I wouldn't have it to go back to as a result of it.
I'm very disheartened by it because I wasn't able to plan up to a year in advance as my company requires before I even found out about it.

It's just odd to me that I only need 2 weeks to quit, 1 month to get a major operation but to have time off, I have to plan a whole year in advance?

Please be praying for me, this one is a real toughie for me.
