Ah, I can see it now. Everyone beating out there own metal parts, assembling their own cars, flying there own planes they built themselves with no traffic controllers........
 
Since industry, run by owners who fronted the capital to pay the employees built this country I would hate to see what we would be like without the changes. Defiantly would not be tapping on these keys right now. Not saying what we have is better or worse, both have their high and low points. Just making the point that what you propose is not possible in the world we live in today.
 
By the way, industry started long before the 1800's.
