To me it stands to reason that if you are in a leadership position in this or any other ministry you should be expected to and be able to control your hormones, thoughts etc. We all have that ability. Those who can't control themselves need to ask themselves if they should be in leadership.
I have been in church many years and I never sought leadership (Sunday School teacher, no one else would do it, guess didn't really seek it)but one time before I was mature spiritually and it was awful. Fought all the time with my husband. It was many many years before I ever attempted again to do anything in a leadership capacity. The only reason I got into RR in the first place was because NO MAN WOULD STEP UP AND DO THE JOB. My husband begged me to help him. I finally agreed as long as I was free to be myself and not a stuffed shirt like last time. So believe, I am not trying to foist myself upon you. But when no man will step up to do the job then ya'll need to get out of my way and let me do it if it needs getting' done. My boys have consistently performed better than any other group in our OP. They have gone on more outings, earned more advancements, and earned more merits, I got them interested and they earned the majority of the Urban Rangers merits and they (the Bucks) challenged the Pioneers to see who could earn more merits and the Buck with less boys earned more merits the all of the other groups combined. Sorry guys, I am a woman raised by a woman with no man around except briefly. There's your sermon title for you, "What happens to today's woman when she is raised without a father figure, except an "uncle" now and then." Sorry if I ruffled any feathers, but even birds ruffle their own feathers now and then. Flame on!
