>What that means is "you can't have a state religion" this is what
1000's fled to come to America in the 1st place.
When these men feared more than anything else, was not the fact
that a person could pray in schools, or in public. It was losing the
rights of all men to have excess to their religion or god, without
persecution. They feared a state religion could evolve in this
country like it did in other countries. This scared many to set in
order this statement within the rights of those in America.
What has happen is the fact: that "PEOPLE" today interpret this
to mean, NO RELIGION at ALL in any government institution, which is
totally false to the ideals of what our forefather set forth for us
to enjoy. READ IT AGAIN, "MAKE NO LAW TO ESTABLISH A RELIGION"
other words a state set up religion, and many forget or don't
read the next part "MAKE NO LAW TO PROHIBIT THE FREE EXCERCISE"
(RELIGION) other words if you want to pray you can, if all want to
kneel down they can, if you want to read your bible, you can. It is
called "FREE EXCERCISE" not a state religion, you go to your own
church for worship, This government can't take memberships, recieve
tithes, baptize people, or pray over people, BUT individuals can
call for prayer, and our President has before,
It is a shame this has been distorted in the courts and in
government understanding.
