The old and the new programs point to the advancement trail. If the boys
are earning merits and advancing then that is a good sign.  They will be
getting all points of the emblem.  In that you will find a well rounded
Christian.  

When we deviate and go off on a tangent then the points of the emblem get
out of balance.  
As a outpost we should be reach, teach and keep.  Keeping them is the
hardest part. It takes a well rounded program to keep them.  

I think balance is very important.  I think our Lord thought so as well.
