I hear you brother and I understand your concern. I too would like to have
seen the Christian Flag there as well. However, and I'm not certain about
this though that could raise a lot of unwanted controversies as well and not
just with the non-Christians but with the Brothers and Sisters in the other
denominations who have no clue what the Rangers are or do. Most of the
Protestant denominations appear to be using this flag to represent
themselves as fellow Christians and there are presently no variations of it
from what I have seen so far. Nothing there to represent a nationality or
anything like that because God is more concerned with the person, not where
he's from. God put him where he's from. What I think would be in order is
an explanation of the train of thought behind why it was selected to on the
uniform. For me personally, I think that it could serve a purpose at
national Camporama where there are Rangers from other countries there as a
means of identification, but Even there, you would just about die from the
heat if you had to wear the khakis the whole time.
This new program is still not 100% tried and true. If you feel that way
about it , start a petition or something at your level,(being the church
level) then bring it to the section, if they agree with it take right up
your chain of command and let District Cmdr deal with it. From what I have
seen, District Cmdr does have a say in the matter. He will go to regional
with it and if several of the Districts come on board with it, it will start
to make changes.
I don't know if it could work like this under the new program or not, I am
not able to recall a precedent for it (doesn't mean there wasn't one) I
think that would have worked under the old program. One other thought, don't
be the lone ranger on it, it will carry more weight if you and several more
Cmdrs are united on it.

Just my thoughts from the peanut gallery.

Subject: [RR] he US Flag patch: Blind Patriotism versus Christian common
sense

> I've been trying to restrain myself but because of recent events in our
country and comments by other Royal Ranger Commanders I can no longer hold
this back:
>
> I'm going to discuss two kinds of Christians views regarding the American
Flag patch. The first view is what I see many Christians having, and that
is "when I look at the American flag I see how the United States USED to be
and how it SHOULD be." Then there is the other Christian view: "When I see
the American flag patch I see how the United states IS and how it WILL be."
The latter in my opinion is that of a realist while the privious is that of
an idealist. Let's face the reality according to the BIBLE, the United
States is getting more and more morally corrupt not to mention
anti-Christian (just look at the news and compare it to the last 10 to 20
years) and is only going to get worse until Jesus returns and when that day
comes there will be no United States of America instead there will be a one
world government ruled by Jesus Christ. So we can either countinue to live
in the past and talk about what ifs for the rest of our lives or we can
except the fact that the U!
> nited States of America will eventually become part of the Antichrist's
one world government.
>
> It is because of this that I am against the MANDATORY wearing of an
American flag on my uniform. I understand that many rangers perfer to stay
in their "comfort zone" but I'm not one of them so why should I have to be
forced to wear the American flag. Why couldn't the national office have
made the flag patch OPTIONAL like the Boy Scouts of America? I look forward
to the future, to a world ruled by Christ which is why I tried to submit a
proposed Christian flag patch (which was REJECTED by the way). I know you
guys are probably going to flame me and say I'm a commie or a dirty hippie
or something like that but I'm going by the Word of God here not wishful
thinking.
