I don't see what is so confusing. All the Pioneer Gold Track is are
requirements for the Bible merit. The other stuff is covered under
required merits. The God and Family is not required for GMA. If a boy
just wants to do "only standard stuff" then wait until Trailblazers to do
the Bible merit and forget all the extra work ( God and series ). Even if
it is designed to help them. While we are at it only do the bare
necissity in school and depend on the Government to take care of you when
you start work.
The Pioneer Gold Track is designed to get part of the Bible merit out of
the way.
I have mentioned this before but I wish the standard track was a little
better thought out in a couple of areas. For example if in the Powder
Horn Health and Physical Fitness part ( under Physical Growth ) the 2
week chart was expanded to 1 month and if in Bowie Knife if the Physical
Growth exercise chart were also expanded they will have completed part of
the Physical Fitness Merit. As it is they only do half the requirement in
thie area. Why not do the full requirement as you go along?
