<< All,
 Please help me out here
I'm a little disappointed with some of my Rangers.
We were wanting to take them to pow wow this and had a number
interested a few weeks ago. Tonight and last week interest dropped just
to few a boys and Sr.Commander thought it would be best not to go. Which in
a way I can unnderstand, because our group was buckaroos and had to have
 there
fathers. To make a long short the boys was more interested in playing
 baseball
then getting a blessing from the Lord.
The Sr.Commander turns tonight, around and makes plans for a outpost
campout for that same Saturday and Sunday. 3/4 of the boys that said they
didn't want to go to pow wow wanted to go on the outpost campout.
What's wrong when a boy don't want to go to pow wow, but yet he can make a
Saturday night outpost campout on that same weekend?
I'm going to pow wow with another Rangers group. The main reason I wanted
to go is Fred Deavers will be our speaker. It's worth the trip just to
 hear Fred speak.
The point I'm making is pow wow if for the boys. >>

Yes, it is for the boys. Are any of them Pioneers or Trailblazers. I
understand if you only have Buckaroos in your Outpost. I do agree that dad
needs to come. Is there one dad that will come with his son?
First I am not second guessing your Sr Commander, but I was trained in the
beginning that if you only have one boy who wants to go on the outing and if
you have at least two leaders, GO! We had only one boy who wanted to attend
a spring sectional campout about two years ago and we went. Great campout!
Last year only six boys and 2 leaders went to our Pow Wow. This year we
have 24 boys and 9 men going. And with a week left to register, maybe more.
Many of them it is their first. First I praise God! We have heavily
promoted it for three weeks. We are having fundraising events to help pay
everyone's way.

What God has shown me is that we have to be faithful in small things first
before He intrusts us in greater things. This can apply to small outposts as
well.
Support your Sr Commander and Outpost. If you have a local campout instead
of going to Powwow, make the local campout the best it can be. Have your own
council fire and devotions. Watch for teachable moments. I know you are
disappointed but make the best out of the opportunity. God Bless.
