No offence taken.
In our home the Divine rule and Authority of God runs like this.
Father
Son
Holy Spirit
Husband
Wife
Children
Now don't get me wrong that does not mean that I lord it over my wife.
We are equal in the eyes of God, 2 joined together as 1.
Heather is prepared to submit to me, and in many situations her wisdom is
greater than mine, and I recieve that. I come along side her and support
her.
I am the covering for my family. and although I have ministry
responsibilities my first ministry is to my family.
We also believe that God's divine rule and authority works in the work
place.
Father
Son
Holy Spirit
Employer
Employee
This should also run in Government
Father
Son
Holy Spirit
Head Of State (in our case Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II)
Government.
It doesn't matter a hill of beans whether the person above you in either
ministry, home life, work or national matters is walking in obedience,
Father God is only interested in the fact that you are walking in
obedience.
Romans 13:1 says Let every person be in subjection to the governing
authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which
exist are established by God.
N.A.S.B.
To our brothers who are in distress at this church, We in England will pray
that the Lord of all glory will be glorified and that a solution will be
found and that the enemy will be crushed.
Finally to answer the point that there is a danger of elevating the pastor
to a lofty height as do some nominal denominations.
I totally agree. My pastor and his wife are my wife and I's closest
friends.
But I recognise through events in my life that God has called me to the
church where I am to be shepparded (yes that word) by this man. Both
Heather and I call Paul & Barbara mom & dad. Paul has a vision for Royal
Rangers in our church and Barbara is one of my commanders.
Now I know that the pastor is to be a father of the house but this guy and
his wife have done so much to help my wife and I and our relationship has
grown so strong that we do call them mum and dad. they have full permission
given by us to speak into our lives. to keep us from falling.
By the same token a friend of mine (who is now our Outpost Chaplain) has
made covenant with me and pastor Paul in the same way that Aaron & Hur made
covenant with Moses, Exodus 17 :10 - 13.
We will watch his back day and night & make sure his hands are steady.
Paul recognises that both Duncan and I, like others in the church have a
prophetic gift, & are gifted in words of wisdom & knowledge. and he has
given permission to all of us with these gifts to speak into his life and
the life of the church.
Paul has a friend form Portland Oregon who for many years was his pastor.
Paul still considers Rick his pastor. At one meeting during the
rededication of our building, at the end of a construction project, Rick
took Duncan & I and placed our hands on Pauls back. He said to Paul "listen
to these guys buddy. God has made them your council" he turned to us and
said " God has solemly charged you guys with looking our for Paul to stand
in the gap with him at all times. Don't let anything happen to him"
That is how we operate God's divine rule and authority. I know it is a
toughy for some christians to swallow, because it means putting to death
the flesh daily, killing our pride, becoming each day more humble. (I have
been passed over for ministry many times before. It's been hard but God
always had something better lined up for me.) But, it is not some
regimental military code. It is God's plan for how all members of the body
live and function together in unity.
Yours in the love of Jesus
Determined to win Children & Parents for Christ.

Senior Commander & Childrens Ministries Co-ordinator
