Too bad about the poor attendance at the Regional Seminars, especially when
the national commander is making the effort to meet the commanders
face-to-face to present the new directions and plans for Royal Rangers. If
commanders want to hear the information, and to get it first hand, then
this is the best way for any of us to get it. And, you get a chance to ask
questions and voice your concerns! We are expecting 500 or so at our
regional seminar, which is a pretty good showing for our region, but not as
good as it should be.

However, notice that I didn't say that the Regional Seminars were the only
way to get the information. Make sure you go to your district's Commanders
Conference. Your district staff will be receiving updates at the Regional
Seminar, through the National Network (a mailing to National Council
members), and at National Council next March. They can share the
information with you.

Also, I pointed out that you need to make sure you are chartered so that
you will receive the High Adventure Leader and Online newsletter from the
national office. I don't know what their plans are right now about WHEN
announcements of the changes will be forthcoming, but those are likely
vehicles that the national office will use to spread the word when there is
news to share.

The RR Executive Committee met earlier this month and approved the
strategic plan. Give the process time. It takes time to make the type of
sweeping changes that the A/G executives in Springfield have asked for, and
that the RR leadership feels is necessary.
