Just got back from National RR Council. WOW, My head was spinning but it was great. The enthusiasm level seemed fever pitch to me. There are SO many good things happening in Rangers, around the world. It is a GREAT time to be a Royal Ranger.

*I'm encouraged...

It's clear to me that I'm involved with Royal Rangers of Y2k!
I know in my "knower" that this is the most critical time for Royal Rangers in it's life..

*However.. a constant companion is the "feeling" of excitement at the first Outpost meeting of
OP22 SoCal in 1962! *Why that relates... and compells me is that it seemed something "special"
was being built for me... *Then- and *Now! right now!
They shared "The Plan". It is soon to be on the National page as a powerpoint presentation. They will keep it updated there so we can keep abreast of the developments. Check the page once in awhile. There were the natural concerns about 1) Cost, 2) GMA equivilency, 3) Training. Legitimate concerns but the National officers were all ears. Their minds were not closed as in some other organizations in the past.

*Right-

To make the target of a slimer, more effective *Ministry.. Real hands on progress must be made in
program advancement. Currently our focus in on the high achieveing ranger and his trail to the GMA!

More options and choices seem to be OUR WAY- *But perhaps clear vision might show that by
removeing some walls- the overall effectiveness and involvement of boy in our *Ministry/Program
would rise.. as well as blend in better with other "outside forces" Youth ect.

*But we are not doing so good at retaining the involvement of the back row boy..
The answer there is plain old *Outdoor events and camps.. and then let boys act with boys to build
Ranger *spirit and energy.  Do something- enought talk!

The new cirriculum layout is wonderful. Imagine 12 years worth of material, 52 weeks a year for all 10 parts of the Ranger Meeting Plan. (Yes, I said 10, not 16, not 12, not 11 but 10).

*Amen- a PLANNED MEETING frees Commander to do his job! *Counsilor! *Advisor! COACH!
Good Report!
