Unfortunately, my personal experience is that most AG churches utilize the RR program
for a "babysitting" service for the midweek service. This also cost the program the
experience of the older youth as they went to CA's (I know I am telling my age here!)
Another problem that I encountered was the lack of adult leadership support from the
church.

We converted the program over to the BSA, but, in my stupidity, we kept the program on
a church night. The results were the same. However, after leaving this church, I
stayed with the BSA and have found that they do have an outstanding program. I
currently serve as Vice Chairman, Program for our district, have been the District
Commissioner, as well as held leadership positions in the units in which my boys were
involved.

Keep camping as the centerpiece of the program (secondary to God, of course)and give
the urban boys the experience of a lifetime. Give them the opportunity to see the
world that God has created. They will be changed forever.

YIS,

Darrell Clakley
