Hi Paul and all,
I heard this story while listening to Rush Limbaugh during my lunch
break. The young man was pulled out of his 1st. period class and brought
to the principles office. He was asked if he had any weapons in his car
as they had a report from someone (unidentified) that he was carrying.
He told the principle that he had an axe head in his trunk (with a
broken handle). When asked if the authorities could search his car he
consented. While searching a pocket knife and cell phone were found in
the glove box withthe axe head in the trunk. Due to the policy the
school district has he was immediately suspended for the last 10 days of
school. According to the report the rules of what is illegal to bring to
school were published and handed to each student at the beginning of the
school year. This students suspension was not in-school or out-of-school
but he has been sent to an alternative school in Savannah.
Further information. The school district has had four shootings in the
past three years. The Superintendant stated that there can be no
leniency to there zero tolerance policy. The student is also suspended
for the summer. He will miss all school activities. Band, Jr. Prom,
National Honor Society Dinner, etc. The student stated the items were in
his car because he taught a class on toolcraft the night before. The
cell phone was given to him by his father in case of emergency.
My take on the matter. He knew the rules and whether he did it on
purpose or by accident he broke the rules. sometimes the rules stink,
but they are still the rules. If ya don't like the rules you do what you
can to change them. I feel sorry for this young man and what he has to
go through. I also feel sorry for the society to have gotten to the
point to where the only response can be zero tolerance.
It is interesting that Jesus spoke very clearly about these times we are
living in. Moral decay, low spirituality, a lack of regard for others as
all increasing before He returns. It just makes me want to tell more
about Jesus. The time is short and the watchman should be watching.
Brother Michael is correct in saying we need to get Jesus back into our
schools. So, go pump up yourself, Rangers, Missionettes and Youth to
tell all around them about Jesus and His saving grace. As for the world,
it will continue to decline. This will make our light shine brighter,
just as Jesus said it would.
Bless Ya All,
