*In our fab Outpost.. 8 men left when we (Cdr.Jen and I)
arrived.. and they shut down Rangers except for our group!
It always amazes me when men who should be our brothers treat us
as if we are the enemy...
In time... We "grew back" but never with any member of the
church or former Ranger leader.. *ALL LEADERSHIP was recruted
from outside our church, with incomming transfers from
other outposts<G>
Hmmm.
Basic qualification for a commander is 'Member of the church in good standing'
*Frankly, I was hauled into a meeting and criticized for
useing RR LTC as a guideline to *challenge the pastoral
authority of the Childrens "pastor"... He wanted us to
be an extention of his "superchurch" and not a real RR
Outpost. His idea was to shut down Trailblazers and send
them to youth. His idea was "No camping"...
A very tough and unique situation that still brings gas to
my belly... Burrrrrp!
I can sympathize. a)Empire building by an insecure youth pastor who has to 'win'.
(I can never understand how us 'middle-aged oddballs in RR' can be such a threat
to the youth pastor's sense of security...)
b)Complete failure by Men's Ministries to carry their weight, though I'm
seeing more and more churches moving RR to Children's Ministries...
