*Let the Church respond with a hearty A-men!<G>

We need to "Lead" in a direction the boys will
gain the greatest personal advancement from in
their Mental,Social,Physical and *Spiritual lives.

I would be wrong, and be taken wrongly if I said
FCF has not met that challange, but also understand
there is much that FCF could do to better Royal
Rangers in other directions than primitive campcraft.

At the 1966 call-out the focus was not on "primitive"
examples, but on "Exploreing the Wilderness"

*I've had an incredible experiance of this 'thought..
by being right here on Rangernet since 1995 and fondly
remember my 1200 bdu modem over a phoneline<G>

We should be mindfull to not celibrate the limits
of that "primitive" era<G> (Mosseberry pie aside..)
But *explore the original intent of calling Royal
Rangers out of the cyber darkness to the light of
this campfire!<G>

FCF also can share in that positive act of bringing
light to the Wilderness dark....

The "Patfinder" program is excellent.. and what
a outstanding thing if the Youngbucks could travel
as the oldtimers do, to assist others.

I understand your thinking, "to each his own"
as some are more prone to FCF style than others..
You are saying: "Best be those that dress in buckskin"
if that wins souls to christ.

I'm trying to say, that the Lewis and Clark expedition
had elements that could be improved upon by the use
of modern supplies readily availible to us, at the
Wal-mart today, and that we do not *prefer their
primitive thoughts about hygene, food and shelter
to modern understandings of the same. If the duty
of FCF is to promote "Camping" in Royal Rangers..

A Modern arm of FCF would do well to promote
being "Ready for anything" in Gortex parkas and
lightweight trail boots<G> Flint and steel would
translate into the "Metal match" and the investment
in the "Tipi" would be ballanced by promoteing a
4 season nylon dome tent.

*Pleasureable as it is to stand behind a young
boy and teach him to shoot... We might gain equal
pleasure in teaching him to Orienteer or cook in
a Dutch oven.. to improve his confidence as a leader.

*Some FCF skills do not transfer well back to the
Outpost. (Hawk-Knife ect.)

In truth, we allways can reach upward for more,
and should! There is no "resting place" on the way
to the goal.

*Amen..

When it is "out of your abundence" but not at
the expence of quality of life for others...
