Thank you Doug,

I have lots of graphic packages I can use to convert and I can reduce the
resolution and make it smaller. Facebook makes the files small by reducing the
resolution but I prefer to keep the high resolution.
In any case using a picture variable in the background instead of wallpaper
allowed me to use the JPG file and my for is now almost 10 times smaller. Good
thing that using R:Base you can achieve the same result by several means.

Post it to facebook (visible to only you if you want) and then download it. fb
will compress it.
Once downloaded you can delete it from fb.

I have an image I want to display as a background wallpaper in a form The JPG
image I have is 1600x1059 and 558 KB but the system allows me to select only
BMP images. I have converted the JPG image to BMP using several programs
including Photoshop Elements and Irfan and the smallest I can get is 4.5 GB
image which is 9-10 times larger and naturally makes the form open slow. Is
there a way to use the smaller JPG file as a form background wallpaper?
