There is also a setting in TS to disconnect a period of inactivity.

Dennis,

You have a user session "stuck" open on the Terminal Server. Goto your
Terminal Server, Open the terminal services manager (from the control
panel - administrative tools) Look in the users list for any open
sessions.. Right click on them and then disconnect or reset them.
We have been using TS with both RBase 6.5++ Win and Dos in Multiuser mode
for years. Once and a while a user gets "bumped" or does not shut down
properly and the session is held open.

You did not mention what OS your client is using, but if it is Win2K, you
can goto the server that holds the Databases, right click on My Computer and
click on Manage. In the manage box click on OPEN FILES... This will show you
who has the database files open. You can then either click on the individual
database files and close them manually or you can close ALL of the open
files at once.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - MS Terminal Services question

RBWin 6.5++

I have a customer (the first using MSTSC) who has set up four plants using
MS Terminal Services for each plant to access separate db's on a corporate
server. On the desktop icon the Target is:
C:\Program Files\Terminal Services Client\MSTSC.EXE "App Name"
and the Start in is:
C:\Program Files\Terminal Services\

I guess this is the same as a remote user using Carbon Copy or PC Anywhere.
The single work station plants work fine but the plant with two PC's is
unable to reload their data base. Windows sees the dbfiles as open even
when one PC is logged out of Windows and the other one is Disconnected from
the data base.

Anyone out there using terminal services in a multi user environment?

TIA,

Dennis
