We use three Zebra LP2844s, each printing hundreds of labels a day with no problems at all.  Low cost labels and easy to feed and tear.  Works with all versions of RBase, DOS and Windows.  All three are sharable network printers.

The only setup problem I remember was setting the driver to the correct paper. 2" by 4".

Try printing a small text file from DOS (no RBase involved) and see if you get the same problem.

Subject: [RBASE-L] - FW: Label Printing with Zebra LP2844

Have just purchased a Zebra label printer and am having difficulty printing standard text labels (not bar codes)

 from Rbase 6.5++ (version 1.866)

I have set the printer to "Line Mode"

PRNSETUP 'Zebra LP2844'

OUT PRINTER

LBLPRINT test              (test being a form that displays ok on the screen)

OUT SCREEN

The label prints ok but with each label I get the following

JF

q832

q832

q036

0

followed by the correct label text

Is there any simple way of suppressing these Ascii (?) Characters?

Is there another 2" to 4" label printer that I should be looking at that is more compatible with RBase?

Many Thanks
